Swallowtail Farmstead is a small-scale ecological market garden & herb farm, founded in 2022. We are located on Treaty 1 land, about 30 minutes SE of Winnipeg, Manitoba (near Ste. Anne). We are passionate about growing beautiful, high quality vegetables, garlic, medicinal herbs, and flowers, while caring for this land and creating a resilient homestead for our family on our small acreage. We offer CSA veggie box programs, classes & skills-sharing opportunities, a May Seedling & Plant Sale, and a year-round Online Farm Store. You can also find us at occasional local farmers markets, and we deliver our farm goods to Winnipeg once a week.
We are grateful for all those who have saved seeds, tended land, and passed on plant knowledge before us. We live on Treaty 1 territory, traditional territory of the Anishanaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene Peoples, and the National Homeland of the Red River Metis.
As a small act of reparation a portion of our farm proceeds is donated to Indigenous-led food security programs in Manitoba.
