Swallowtail Farmstead is a developing small-scale ecological herb farm and market garden, founded in 2022. We are located on Treaty 1 land, in south-eastern Manitoba, about 30 minutes from Winnipeg (near Ste. Anne). We are passionate about growing beautiful, high quality vegetables, medicinal herbs, flowers, and garlic, while caring for this land and creating a resilient homestead for our family on our small acreage. We offer CSA veggie box programs, classes & skills-sharing opportunities, a May Seedling & Plant Sale, seasonal Farm Stand, and a year-round Online Farm Store. You can also find us at occasional local farmers markets, and we deliver our farm goods to Winnipeg once a week.
We are grateful for all those who have saved seeds, tended land, and passed on plant knowledge before us. We live on Treaty 1 territory, traditional territory of the Anishanaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene Peoples, and the National Homeland of the Red River Metis.
As a small act of reparation a portion of our farm proceeds is donated to Indigenous-led food security programs in Manitoba.
