From plant to medicine
We are growing more than 40 varieties of medicinal herbs, as well as saving seeds and growing spring seedlings. We use only ecological techniques to grow all our herbs, never using any pesticides, chemicals or GMOs. Using human-scale farming we are able to build a relationship to every plant we grow and harvest, knowing we are bringing the highest quality product to you.
We are developing herbal learning gardens here at Swallowtail Farmstead so that we can share these herbs with you through workshops and other hands-on learning opportunities. Our seasonal herb share boxes offer a variety of seasonal wellness products made by hand in small batches, use the plants we have lovingly grown and harvested at their peak. These shares are meant to be a learning opportunity for you, with information booklet and DIY project supplies, to bring herbal allies into your home for your own everyday learning and use.
About: Karin is a community herbalist and small-scale ecological herb farmer. For the past 25 years she has been cultivating a relationship with medicinal plant allies. She has worked on a herb farm in Ontario, studied with the Dominion Herbal College in BC, with Rosemary Gladstar/Sage Mountain, Chestnut Herb School, The Market Gardener Institute (Market Gardener Master Class), and is currently taking permaculture design studies through the Permaculture Women's Guild. She is a life-long student, and loves to share herbalism through hands-on immersive learning experiences.
