From Seed to Plate
We grow a rainbow of different vegetables, varieties of salad greens, hardneck garlic and medicinal herbs, on aprox 1.5 acres using hand tools and no-till permanent garden beds to minimize soil disturbance. We grow all our vegetables and herbs from organic and non-GMO seeds, using ecological methods in our gardens to build soil health, protect our waterways, and encourage diverse ecosystems.
We also grow cut flowers, spring veggie garden seedlings, and a small selection of tree seedlings for sale. We have planted a slowly expanding perennial orchard of asparagus, berries, apples/pears/cherries & hazelnut trees (to offer in future years). We also love to forage: wild berries for jam and preserves, acorns for flour, hawthorns and nettles for tea, yarrow for healing salves, all foraged mindfully in our small woodlot.
Our farm products are available as pre-paid CSA subscriptions (fresh veggie box subscriptions), or at our farmstand (Fridays and Saturdays), at local farmer's markets, and through our online farm store.

We want to help you eat local all year
- Spring: Our spring "greens share" in May provides 4 weeks of fresh greens for fresh salads and smoothies!
- Summer-Fall: Our 19 week vegetable CSA runs from aprox. mid-June to October, offering a wide selection of fresh vegetables and herbs during their peak growing season. We have free-range eggs available for CSA members.
- Late Fall: We offer pumpkins, winter squash, and heirloom garlic that are chosen for their long-storage abilities for your winter eating. We sell farm-grown herbal teas, preserves and local berry jams to support you through the fall and winter months.
- Winter: During the colder months we grow several varieties of sprouts, microgreens, and winter-hardy greens (kale, spinach, etc). We offer classes on fermentation, food preserving, sprouting, and herbal medicine-making, to help you continue to eat locally and stay healthy over the winter months.
We also have a small artisan micorbakery project making organic baked goods (handmade sourdough breads and seasonal pies using local organic ingredients from other Manitoba farms), preserves/pickles/jams (made with our own produce), and hand-harvested herbal teas. CSA veggie box members also have access to special extras like our free-range eggs, pesto, dried foods, custom baking, and ferments (krauts, kimchi) by special order. We have plans to add mushroom logs (shiitakes and oysters), as well as bee hives for honey. We look forward to providing a greater diversity of local food for our family & the community.
We are expanding our gardens and adding new varieties, so sign up for our email newsletter to find out what is available!
We are members of Seeds of Diversity Canada, and volunteer in their Community Grow-Out Program to help preserve unique, heirloom and rare varieties of seeds. You may find these incredible varieties in our CSA boxes or at our weekend farm stand.
