Fresh plant medicine

About: Fire Ciders have a long history in the folk medicine traditions. Generally made with a combination of simple yet fiery ingredients from the garden (e.g. cayenne, garlic, onion), infused for several weeks in raw apple cider vinegar to create a potent vitamin rich tonic with antiviral and immune boosting properties.

Suggested uses: In acute situation take 1-2 Tbsp at the first sign of a cold, or as a daily tonic take 1-2 tsp sipped or diluted in water. Can also be added to salad dressings, broths, marinades, hot water, sparkling water, and more.

Cautions: Honey should not be consumed by children under 1 year of age.

Store in a cool dark place. Keeps up to 6 months (or longer in the fridge).

We are grateful for all those who have saved seeds, tended land, and passed on plant knowledge before us. We live on Treaty 1 territory, traditional territory of the Anishanaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene Peoples, and the National Homeland of the Red River Metis.
As a small act of reparation a portion of our farm proceeds is donated to Indigenous-led food security programs in Manitoba.
