Oregano (Origanum vulgare)
About:
A hardy perennial flowering plant from the mint family. Oregano is easy to grow, and will spread into a large patch over time (but is not considered to be invasive). Oregano attracts bees and other pollinators during it's flowering time.
Sun/Soil
Will tolerate most conditions, but prefers well-drained soil with full sun. The flavour of oregano intensifies after a hot sunny day.
Culinary Uses
Oregano has a great affinity for tomato-based dishes, so it added to sauces, soups, stews, and pizza! It can also be chopped into salad dressings with oil/vinegar as a vinaigrette.
Medicinal Uses
This common garden/kitchen herb has a long history of medicinal use, for situations like skin sores, aching muscles, colds, and toothache. It can be taken as a hot tea made from the leaves, to help with coughs and colds.
Organically grown, with certified organic seeds and organic soil. Comes in a compostable pot.
