St Johns Wort (Hypericum perforatum)

A hardy perennial that produces the most gorgeous yellow flowers. Pick the flowers as the buds just open, to use in making infused oil. Will attract bees and other pollinators with it's flowers.
Sun/Soil
Will tolerate most conditions, but prefers well-drained soil with full sun to part shade.
Culinary Uses
St Johns Wort is not usually used as a culinary plant.
Medicinal Uses
St Johns Wort tea (made with leaves and flowers) has a long history of being used for anxiety, the "blues", insomnia, and calming nervousness. The flowers and leaves are used infused in oil, for healing minor cuts, burns, and bruises.
