Tall perennial plant from the mallow family, with lovely white and pink flowers that are reminiscent of miniature hollyhock stocks.
Sun/Soil
Grows best in sandy soil, with part shade to sun.
Culinary Uses
Long ago marshmallow root was used as a food source. It is not commonly used as food today, although it's powdered root can be made into delicious homemade healthy marshmallow candy.
Medicinal Uses
Traditionally marshmallow leaves, flowers and roots have been used for sore throats, coughs, soothing inflammation. Can be made into syrups, pastilles, cough lozenges, teas/decoctions and more. Marshmallow leaves add soothing qualities to salves.
Organically grown, with certified organic seeds and organic soil. Comes in a compostable pot.
