Fragrant tender perennial in zone 3, from the mint family. Attracts bees to your garden with it's tiny sweet-lemony scented flowers. Used medicinally and as a culinary herb. Continue picking leaves throughout the summer to encourage more growth.
Sun/Soil
Grows best in fertile moist soil in a shady cool part of the garden. Prefers partial shade over full sun. Keep out of hot mid day sun.
Culinary Uses
Can be used in place of lemon peel to flavour soups, sauces, vinegars, salads, and baking.
Medicinal Uses
Delicious tea, traditionally used to calm the stomach and aid digestion, soothe anxiety and nervousness, and add flavour to other more bitter teas.
