About: Dyer's Chamomile is a hardy perennial (zone 4-9) although it has overwintered for us here in zone 3b for the past few years. The flowers also readily self-seed. Grows 2-3 feet tall. Beautiful golden yellow flowers. Makes a great cut flower, and attractive to pollinators.
Traditionally flowers are used as fresh or dried for making natural dye for textiles, with shades of yellow-golden-ochre (depending on mordant used), or modified with indigo for green. Aprox 2 dozen plants will yield enough flowers in a season to dye 1 lb wool.
Organically grown here at Swallowtail Farmstead.
