About: Striking unique plant often planted in cottage gardens. Tall spikes grow 5-8 feet tall, and make a great backdrop to any garden or against a building. Flowers are deep purple to nearly black. Can be used as a dye plant, making deep shades of green to blue. Both the flowers and leaves are edible.
