Herbs - Marjoram (
About: Marjoram has sweet pine & citrus flavours, and is often used in place of oregano. An annual in zone 3, keep plants growing as long as possible by trimming back leaves to prevent flowering (although both leaves and flowers are edible). Used in soups, salads, and sauces, excellent on pizza, and can be dried to use in culinary herb blends (e.g. herbes de Provence). Marjoram also has many health benefits, including reducing inflammation, blood pressure, and improving memory (note it may be unsafe to take in medicinal quantities if pregnant or breast-feeding).
