About: Beautiful tall sunflowers, growing upto 2 metres tall, they benefit from staking. The plants prefer full sun and well-drained soil. They need a good supply of water to grow well. The seeds are edible, and can also be used to make natural dye, in varying shades of black, purple, maroon, lavender and grey. The dye was traditionally used for basketry and textiles (cotton, wool).
Organically grown here at Swallowtail Farmstead.
