Medicinal / Culinary Herb

About: Mugwort is a flowering plant in the Asteracea (daisy) family that is native to Europe, Asia and part of North America. It has green serrated leaves with silvery-blue undersides. Mugwort has been used in many cultures as a medicinal, spiritual and culinary plant for many centuries.

Medicinal uses: Mugwort has a long fascinating history of medicinal use. It is an aromatic bitter, and was historically used in beer making. Being a bitter, it aids in digestion and tones the liver. It has also been used for treating pain and inflammation/infections on the skin. As well, Mugwort has long been used in smoke blends to be mentally cleansing/stimulating, and aiding in dream recall. Do not use if pregnant.

Growing tips: Mugwort benefits from cold stratification to germinate. To help germinate, place seeds in damp paper towel and seal in ziploc bag. Store in freezer for several weeks before planting.

Growth habit:

Mugwort benefits from regular pruning throughout the season.

Other:

We are grateful for all those who have saved seeds, tended land, and passed on plant knowledge before us. We live on Treaty 1 territory, traditional territory of the Anishanaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene Peoples, and the National Homeland of the Red River Metis.
As a small act of reparation a portion of our farm proceeds is donated to Indigenous-led food security programs in Manitoba.

For all Farm Store orders you will receive an email with specific pick-up / delivery details.
