Borage (Borago officinalis)

Also known as star flower, bee bush, bee bread. It is a favourite in the garden for many types of bees, including honey bees, bumble bees, and small native bees. Borage is an annual, but will self-seed readily in your garden.
Sun/Soil
Grows best in sunny conditions, with well-drained soil (but will grow in any soil condition as long as there is sun).
Culinary Uses
There are many culinary uses for borage. The flowers, leaves and stems of borage are all edible. Flowers are used for making drinks, cocktails, syrups, jellies, added to salads, and garnishes for yogurt or desserts. Young leaves can be chopped into salads, soups, stocks and stews.
Medicinal Uses
Traditionally borage flowers and leaves were used for fevers, cough and depression. It is a nervine, which helps with exhaustion and low spirits. The oil from borage seeds has been used to help with inflammation.
